TOTALIZATOR RULES

 

WIN & PLACE POOLS (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)

 

Tickets/transactions for Win or Place for Rs.10 or multiples thereof can be obtained in all the enclosures at the Race Course, Malakpet and at such other Off-Course Tote Points/Centres operated by the Hyderabad Race Club and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
In the event of Race being declared null and void the investments on that Race will be refunded on presentation of relevant tickets and in case of online transactions the same will be refunded to the respective account holders.
 
1. In the place pool, three horses (1,2,3) will be paid on when there are seven or more starters and two (1,2) if there are four or less than seven starters at the time of commencement of transactions for the respective race. The Place pool will not operate if there are less than four starters in a race.
 
2. Should any horse/s that has been declared to start not eventually come under the Starters orders, as defined in General Totalizator Rules, all investments made on such horse are void and the money will be returned against surrender of the relevant ticket/s and in case of online transactions the same will be credited back to the account holders, but the default of such horse shall not affect the number of Places as indicated by the number of horses originally declared to start.
 
There will be no refund for horses withdrawn from a race after they have come under the Starters Order. 
 
FORECAST POOL (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
A Forecast means a transaction made by an investor to nominate in correct order, the winning horse and second horse in a race.
 
Winning combination shall mean coupling the first and second horses in their correct order.
 
1. The Forecast Pool will operate on all races in which there are three or more declared starters.
 
2. Tickets/transactions at Rs.10 each or multiples thereof will be sold on any combination of two horses.
 
3. In the event of the Race being declared null and void the investments on the Race will be refunded on the presentation of relevant tickets and in case of online transactions the same will be refunded to the respective account holders.
 
4. In the event of two or more horses running a dead-heat for the First Place the net pool will be equally divided between the several combinations of any two of dead- heated horses. The dividends will be calculated by sub-dividing each part by the number of Unit transactions on the combination to which it refers.
 
5. In the event of a dead-heat for the Second Place, the combinations which mention the winner First in conjunction with the horse running the dead-heat in the correct order, shall be considered winning combinations. The net pool will be equally divided between the winning combination and the dividend will be calculated by sub-dividing each part with the number of unit transactions on the combination to which it refers.
 
6. Should any horse in a Forecast combination nominated either for win or for 2nd place that has been declared to start not eventually come under the Starters orders as defined in General Totalizator Rules, investments on combinations with such horses will be refunded in full on presentation of relevant tickets/transactions.
 
7. If such withdrawal reduces the number of starters in a race to less than three, the Forecast Pool will be closed and all transactions refunded in full. Should any horse nominated either for Win or for 2nd place that has been declared to start and not eventually come under the starters orders, Investments on combination with such horses will be refunded in full.
 
QUINELLA POOL (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
A Quinella means a transaction/s made by an investor to nominate the first two horses in either order in a race.
 
1.The Quinella Pool will operate on all races in which there are 4 or more declared starters.
 
2. Tickets/transactions at Rs.10 each and multiples thereof will be sold on a combination of two horses in either order.
 
3. In the event of a race being declared null and void the investments on that race will be refunded on presentation and delivery of the relevant ticket and in case of online
transactions the same will be refunded to the respective account holders.
 
4. Should any horse in Quinella combination nominated either for winner or 2nd place that has been declared to start not eventually come under the Starters Orders, as defined in General Totalizator Rules, investments on combinations with such horses will be refunded in full on presentation of relevant tickets.
 
If such withdrawal reduces the number of starters in a race to less than 4, the Quinella Pool will be closed and all transactions refunded in full.
 
TREBLE EVENT POOL (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. In the Treble Event Pool one has to nominate winners in their consecutive race card order of three selected races (3 legs) simultaneously where the race numbers are indicated for the pool operation. The Treble Event Pool (Win) tickets/transactions for which @ Rs.10 or multiples thereof can be obtained in all the enclosures at Race Course, Malakpet and such of the Off-Course Tote Points/Centres which are operated by Hyderabad Race Club and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
2. In the event of a horse nominated on any ticket/transaction in any of the selected races is withdrawn or declared non-starter at Hyderabad or at any racing centre/s, the horse with the maximum number of tickets/transactions as shown in the Rs.10 Win Pool Totalizator at the time of closing of transactions of that particular race will be substituted for the horse nominated which has been withdrawn or declared non- starter. In the event of two or more horses having the same number of maximum tickets/transactions in the Rs.10 Win Pool Totalizator, the substitution will be made on the horse that has the lowest Race Card Number i.e., Horse No.1, 4 and 8 having the same number of tickets/transactions all investments made on the withdrawn horse will be transferred to Horse No.1.
 
3. In the event of a Dead-Heat in any of all the selected races, the total pool less percentage deduction and refunds, if any, will be divided equally between each winning combination and each part will be divided by the number of tickets on the combination, to which it refers. In the event of one or more of the winning combinations being unbacked the amount allotted to it or to them will be added in equal proportions to that allotted to the winning combinations that are backed.
 
4. If the second or third races of the Treble Event Pool are not run, the Treble Event Pool will be considered to have been closed and the net Pool will be divided between the holders of the tickets on the winner of the last Race completed in the Treble Event Pool.
 
JACKPOT POOL (WIN) (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. In the Jackpot Pool one has to nominate winners in their consecutive race card order of five selected races (5 legs) simultaneously where the race numbers are indicated for the pool operation. The Jackpot Pool (Win) tickets/transactions for which @ Rs.10 or multiples thereof can be obtained in all the enclosures at Race Course, Malakpet and such of the Off-Course Tote Points/Centres which are operated by Hyderabad Race Club and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
2.(a). In the event of any selected races not being run, the pool will operate on the remaining selected races. (b). In the event of only one horse being declared to start in any of the selected races the pool will operate on the remaining selected races. (c). In the event of two or more horses are only declared to start in any of the selected races, but one horse comes under starters orders, or should any of the selected races be declared void, the pool will operate on the remaining selected races.
 
3. In the event of horses nominated on any tickets/transactions in any of the selected races is/are withdrawn or declared non-starter/s at Hyderabad or at any other racing Centre/s, the horse with the maximum number of tickets/transactions as shown in the Rs.10 Win Pool Totalizator at the time of closing of transactions of that particular race will be substituted for the horse nominated which has been withdrawn or declared a non-starter. In the event of two or more horses having the same number of maximum tickets/transactions in the Rs.10 Win Pool Totalizator, the substitution will be made on horse that has the lowest Race Card Number, i.e., Horse No.1, 4 and 8 having the same number of tickets/transactions, all investments made on the withdrawn horse will be transferred to Horse No.1.
 
4. The dividends will be calculated as under:-
 
70% of the net pool will be allotted for the holders of tickets/transactions who have correctly nominated the winners of all the five selected races consecutively in the Race Card Order and shall be divided equally amongst such winning tickets/transactions.
 
30% of the net pool will be allotted for the holders of tickets/transactions who have correctly nominated the winners of only the first four selected races consecutively in the Race Card Order, and shall be divided equally amongst such tickets/transactions.
 
Any winning ticket/transaction entitled to a share in the 70% of the net pool will also be entitled to a share in 30% of the net pool, since in the process of nominating the winners of all the five selected races, the winners of the first four selected races have also been nominated.
 
A combination voucher having winners of FIRST FOUR selected races will be entitled to:-
 
(i)  A share in the 70% in case the winner of the 5th leg has been nominated and;
 
(ii)  As many shares in the 30% as the number of losing horses nominated in the 5th leg.
 
5. The allotment of the pool into 70% and 30% as mentioned in Rule 4 above, shall not be operative on the following instances:- (a). Where the Jackpot pool has to operate on less than five selected races under circumstances mentioned in Rules 2, 7 and 8. (b). Where the pool cannot be carried forward beyond that race day according to Rule 8 of the Jackpot Pool and there is no ticket/transaction either nominating the winners of all the five selected races or nominating the winners of first four selected races. (c). Where the winner of the first selected race has not been nominated in any ticket/transaction and the pool has to be paid out on that day in accordance with Rule 7 below.
 
6. (a). In the event of there being no ticket/transaction nominating the winners of the first four selected races in their consecutive race card order, where all the five selected races are run or in the      event of there being no ticket/transaction nominating the winners of the selected races run (in the circumstances mentioned under Rules 2, 7 or 8) the entire pool (30% plus 70%) will be carried forward. (b). In the event of there being no ticket/transaction which nominates the winners of all the five selected races, but there being ticket(s)/transaction(s) nominating the winners of the first four selected races, only 70% of the net pool will be carried forward. (c).Any amount carried forward to a race day selected by the Stewards, as mentioned above will be again subject to allotment at 30% and 70% as per Jackpot pool rules. (d).Should there be no ticket/transaction nominating the winning combination in Jackpot Pool on any Race Day Transactions on Hyderabad Races or on any racing centre/s the respective net pool shall be carried forward.
 
7. In the event of races being abandoned on any day before the first selected race, all the tickets/transactions for that day will be refunded.
 
8. In the event of races being abandoned on any day after one or more selected race/s has/have been run, the net pool will be divided among the winning tickets/transactions which have been successful upto that time. If there is no ticket/transaction nominating all the winners of the selected races which have been run, the net pool shall be carried forward.
 
9.(a) In the event of a dead-heat for the first place in any of the first four selected races, all tickets nominating the horses running the dead-heat will be deemed to have successfully passed. (b) In the event of races being abandoned on any day after one or more selected race/s has/have been run and should there be a dead-heat in the last race which has been run, the net pool will be equally divided into as many parts as there are dead-heating horses and then each such part will be divided amongst the number of tickets/transactions nominating on such dead-heated horses. (c) Where there is a dead-heat for the first place in the fourth selected race, the pool (30%) will be equally divided into as many parts as there are dead-heating horses and then each such part will be divided amongst the number of winning tickets/transactions as per Rule 5 on each such dead- heated horses. In the event of one or more of the Winning combinations being un- backed, the amount allotted to it or them shall be carried forward. (d) Where there is a dead-heat for the first place in the fifth selected race, the pool (70%) will be equally divided into as many parts as there are dead-heating horses and then each such part will be divided amongst the number of winning tickets/transactions as per Rule 5 on each such dead- heated horses.
 
In the event of one or more of the winning combinations being un- backed, the amount allotted to it or them shall be carried forward.
 
10. Under no circumstances will a dividend be paid unless the relevant winning ticket/transaction is produced intact and not mutilated or disfigured.
 
MINI JACKPOT POOL (WIN) (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. (a). This Pool is entirely independent of all other Pools and Totalizator. The Mini Jackpot Pool will be operated on all Hyderabad Race Meetings and on all Off- Course Races conducted at Hyderabad and there shall be maximum of 3 Mini Jackpot Pools for a Venue for a day. (b). Persons placing transactions for this Pool are required to nominate the winner in all the four selected races of the Pool in advance before the start of the first of the four selected races in the correct sequence scheduled to be run that day according to the Official Race Card. 
There is a Mini Jackpot Pool (Win) tickets for which @ Rs. 10/- or multiples thereof can be obtained in all the enclosures at Race Course Malakpet and such of the Off- Course Tote point/s which are operated by Hyderabad Race Club and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
2. (a). Backers must nominate the winner in all the four selected races simultaneously. (b). A Winning ticket shall be one which nominates the winners of the selected races in THEIR consecutive race card order.
 
3. (a). In the event of any selected races not being run, the pool will operate on the remaining selected races. (b). In the event of only one horse being declared to start in any of the selected races the pool will operate on the remaining selected races. (c). In the event of two or more horses only declared to start in any of the selected races, but one horse comes under starters orders, or should any of the selected races be declared void, the pool will operate on the remaining selected races.
 
4. (a). In the event of horses nominated on any tickets in any of the selected races is/are withdrawn or declared non-starter/s the horse with the maximum number of tickets as shown in the Rs. 10/- win Totalizator at the time of closing of transactions of that particular race will be substituted for the horse nominated which has been withdrawn or declared a non-starter. In the event of two or more horses having the same number of maximum tickets in the Rs. 10/- Win Totalizator, the substitution will  be made on horse that has the lowest Race Card Number, i.e., Horse No. 1, 4 and 8 having the same number of tickets, all investments made on the withdrawn horse will be transferred to Horse No. 1. (b). In the event of horse/s nominated on any ticket in any of the selected races is/are withdrawn or declared non-starter/s at the racing Centre for which the Hyderabad Race Club is conducting Intervenue Transactions, the horse/s with the maximum number of tickets sold as shown in the Rs. 10/- Win Totalizator at the time of closing of transactions of that particular race at this centre will be substituted for the horse/s nominated which has/have been withdrawn or declared a non-starter/s or in the event of two or more horses the same number of maximum tickets sold in the Rs. 10/- Win Totalizator the substitution will be made on the horse that has the lowest Race Card Number as mentioned in Rule (5a) 
 
5. The dividends will be calculated as under:- The net pool isarrived at by deducting from the total amount invested, the amounts to be refunded, the Clubs commission and Government taxes applicable from time to time.
 
6. (a) In event of there being no ticket nominating the winners of the first four selected races in their consecutive race card order, or in the event of there being no ticket nominating the winners of the selected races run, the net pool will be carried  forward and the entire amount or split into two or three parts as deemed fit will be added to the net pool of a race day selected by the Stewards, preferably in the same meeting. (b) When a Net Pool is carried forward, it shall not be liable for any further deduction. (c) should there be no ticket on the winning combination in Mini Jackpot Pool on any Intervenue Transactions Day at Hyderabad on races at a centre the respective net pool shall be carried forward and the entire amount or split into two or three parts as deemed fit will be added to the respective net pool of a Intervenue Transactions Day of any racing Centre or to the net pool of any Hyderabad Race Day as nominated by the Stewards.
 
7. In the event of races being abandoned on any day before the first selected race, the price of the tickets purchased for that day will be refunded.
 
8. In the event of races being abandoned on any day after one or more selected race/s has/have been run, the net pool will be divided among the winning tickets which have been successful upto that time. If there is no ticket nominating all the winners of the selected races which have been run, the net pool shall be carried forward and added to the net Mini Jackpot pool of any other racing centre with the express permission of the Stewards of the Club.
 
9. (a).In the event of a dead-heat for the first place in any of the first three selected races, all tickets nominating the horses running the dead- heat(s) will be deemed to have successfully passed. (b). In the event of races being abandoned on any day after one or more selected race/s has/have been run and should there be a dead-heat in the last race which has been run, the net pool will be equally divided into as many parts as there are dead-heating horses and then each such part will be divided amongst the number of tickets nominating on such dead-heated horses. (c). Where there is a dead-heat for the first place in the fourth selected race, the net pool will be equally divided into as many parts as there are dead-heating horses and then each such part will be divided amongst the number of winning tickets.
 
In the event of one or more of the Winning combinations being un- backed, the amount allotted to it or them shall be carried forward and the entire amount or split into two or three parts as deemed fit will be added to the net pool on a race day, as nominated by the Stewards.
 
10. Under no circumstances will a dividend be paid unless the relevant winning ticket is produced intact and not mutilated or disfigured.
 
RULES FOR TANALA (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. Tanala means a transaction made by an investor to nominate the first, second and third placed horses in the correct order of placing in a selected race. A separate pool will be operated for Tanala on all races in which there are five or more declared starters. 
 
2. Tickets/transactions at Rs.10 each or multiples thereof will be sold in all the enclosures of Hyderabad Race Club and Off Course Tote Points/Centres and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
3. In the event of two or more horses running a dead-heat for first or any lower place, the net pool will be divided into as many parts as there are winning combinations and the dividends will be calculated by dividing each part by the number of winning tickets on that combination.
 
4.  Should there be no ticket/transaction on the winning combination in a Tanala Pool, the net Pool will be carried forward.
 
5. (a). Should any horse in a Tanala combination nominated for the first, second or third place does not eventually come under Starters Orders, or has been declared Non-Starter, investments on single tickets/transactions nominating such horse for any place will be refunded in full on presentation of relevant ticket.
(b). In the case of a combination ticket/transaction, refund will be made equivalent to the difference between the total value of the ticket/transaction and the value of the ticket/transaction excluding the withdrawn horse(s) from the horses nominated in the ticket/transaction.
(c). If such withdrawal reduces the number of starters in a race to less than five, the Tanala pool will be closed and all transactions refunded in full.
 
6. In the event of a race being declared NULL and VOID, the investments in that race will be refunded on presentation of relevant tickets.
 
SECOND HORSE POOL (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. Second horse means a transaction made by an investor to nominate the horse which would come second in a race.
 
2. Tickets/transactions at Rs.10 each or multiples thereof will be sold in all the enclosures of Hyderabad Race Club and Off Course Tote Points and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
3.The second horse pool would operate on all races where there are three or more starters.
 
4. In the event of a race being declared null and void all investments on the second horse pool will be refunded on presentation of relevant ticket/s
 
5. If a horse that has been declared to start does not come under starters orders, all investments made on such horse shall be void and shall be refunded on presentation of relevant ticket/s.
 
6. In the event of a dead heat for first place in a race, no horse shall be placed 2nd and as such all investments made on such horse shall be void and shall be refunded on presentation of relevant ticket/s.
 
7. In the event of a dead-heat for second place the net pool amount will be divided into as many parts as there are horses involved in the dead-heat and dividends will be calculated by dividing each part by the number of winning tickets/transactions on each horse so involved.
 
8. If there is no successful ticket/transaction nominating to second placed horse in any race in which the second horse pool operates the net pool will be carried forward
 
THIRD HORSE POOL (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. The Third Horse Pool will be operated on all races of Hyderabad Race Meeting and all Off Course races conducted at Hyderabad Race Club where there are four or more actual runners. If any horse does not run or be declared a nonstarter or is permitted to be withdrawn resulting in the number of runners reduced to less than four or if for any reason less than three places are declared the Third Horse Pool will be declared void and all the transactions will be refunded.
 
2. Investors placing transactions for this pool are required to nominate the 3rd horse, the Winning Combination, in a race. Tickets/transactions at Rs.10 each or multiples thereof will be sold in all the enclosures of Hyderabad Race Club and Off Course Tote Points/Centres and through online web/mobile app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
3. In the event of a dead heat for 2nd place in a race, no horse shall be placed 3rd and as such all investments made on such horse shall be void and shall be refunded on presentation of relevant ticket/s.
 
4. In the event of a dead-heat for 3rd place the net pool amount will be divided into as many parts as there are horses involved in the dead-heat and dividends will be calculated by dividing each part by the number of winning tickets/transactions on each horse so involved.
If there is no successful ticket nominating to 3rd placed horse in any race in which the 3rd horse pool operates the net pool will be carried forward.
 
SHOW POOL (Subject to General Totalizator Rules)
 
1. The Show Pool will be operated on all races of Hyderabad Race Meeting and all Off Course races conducted at Hyderabad Race Club where there are four or more actual runners. If any horse does not run or be declared a nonstarter or is permitted to be withdrawn resulting in the number of runners reduced to less than four or if for any reason less than three places are declared the Show Pool will be declared void and all the transactions will be refunded. 
 
2. Investors placing transactions for this pool are required to nominate the 1st or 2nd horse in a race. Tickets/transactions at Rs.10 each or multiples thereof will be sold in all the enclosures of Hyderabad Race Club and Off Course Tote Points/Centres and through online / mobile HRC's app play.hydraces.com of Hyderabad Race Club.
 
3.   In the event of a dead-heat for 1st or 2nd place the net pool amount will be divided into as many parts as there are horses involved in the dead- heat and dividends will be calculated by dividing each part by the number of winning tickets/transactions on each horse so involved.
 
If there is no successful ticket nominating Show horse pool the net pool will be carried forward.
 
TDS - Section 194 BB of the Income Tax Act, 1961
 
TOTALIZATOR BETTING IN THE PREMISES OF THE CLUB
 
Income tax will be deducted on the entire gross dividend, (after reducing the investment value of the bet relating only to the winning combination of the winning receipt) whenever the gross dividend exceeds the taxable limit, per winning receipt, as per the limit prescribed under section 194 BB of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
The holder of the successful receipt is required to furnish all such information as required in the Act including the relevant and correct PAN to enable the club to issue TDS certificate after generating the print out from the TRACES portal. If incorrect or irrelevant PAN is furnished, the portal will not generate the certificate and the same cannot be given. It is the responsibility of the successful receipt holder to furnish the correct and relevant PAN and write it in the temporary receipt legible without giving any room for ambiguity.
 
ONLINE TOTALIZATOR BETTING
 
Income tax on net winnings will be deducted either at the time of withdrawal or at the end of the financial year, as per the provisions of Section 194BA of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The holder of the winning receipt must provide all necessary information as required under the Act, including a valid and accurate PAN, to enable the club to generate the TDS certificate from the TRACES portal. If an incorrect or invalid PAN is provided, the certificate cannot be issued. It is the sole responsibility of the winning receipt holder to furnish the correct PAN, ensuring it is clearly and legibly written on the temporary receipt, leaving no scope for ambiguity.
